PE and Sports Funding

We are very pleased to accept the additional funding from the Government to help us develop and promote sport in our school.

Total Grant Recieved For 2017/2018: £17,749

1. Olympic Athlete - £1,000

To visit school and inspire the children. 

2. CPD Kings PE Support - £4,100

Mrs McQuillan is working with staff to deliver high quality PE sessions as a means of upskilling staff. 

3. Rock Climbing -£1,200

To give children an opportunately to try climbing, which will be an olympic sport from 2020. (Yr1-4)

4. Orienteering Equipment - £2,395

Following on from the success of orienteering last year, we are looking to purchase our own equipment to allow us to do this more regularly. 

5. Residential Day Trip - £4,000

As a maritime area, we want to promote and encourage water based activities and sports. This opportuntity will be given to classes 5 and 6.

6. The Saints Foundation - £3,000

To work with our local premier league club in helping to provide high class opportunities for a greater variety of children within our school (KS1 and KS2) 

7. Skiing - £1,250

To promote winter sports and encourage children to engage in skiiing as a recreational and competitive activity. (Yr 3) 

8. Lunchtime Multi Skills Club - £600

To enhance lunchtime provision - provide a lunch time club that promotes sport and actively encourages children to particpate.  - £600

 

TOTAL GRANT RECEIVED FOR 2016/17: £8,500

1. PE Training for Teachers - £3,750

Purpose: To increase the confidence and quality of sports teaching through focused training opportunities through partnership with Kings' School and other coaches

2. Resources - £1,000

Purpose: To provide sports kit to enable competitive team involvement

3. Transport - £1,000

Purpose: To provide transport to enable children to access sports events and tournaments

4. Additional support for vulnerable children - £500

Purpose: To enable access to sports events for SEN/ children with a physical disability

5. Promotion of particular sports - £1,500

Purpose: To offer additional after-school clubs to promote under-represented sports

6. Sports Leader Award - £800

Purpose: To train children to become sports leaders within the school

 

TOTAL GRANT RECEIVED FOR 2015/16: £8,610

1. PE Training for Teachers - £4,166

Purpose: To increase the confidence and quality of sports teaching through focused training opportunities through partnership with King's School

All Key Stage 2 teachers have received direct coaching from qualified PE Teachers from our linked Secondary School. This has increased confidence and expertise in the teaching of PE at Key Stage 2.

2. Resources - £1,000

Purpose: To provide appropriate resources to extend and promote sports activity

Additional resources have complemented existing equipment to enable full access to the wider PE curriculum.

3. Transport - £400

Purpose: To provide transport to enable children to access sports events and tournaments

Transport has enabled larger groups to attend sporting events and inter-school tournaments.

4. Competitions and Tournaments - £400

Purpose: To access local sports competitions and tournaments

The school has taken part in numerous external events and competitions which has enabled children from Key Stage 1 and 2 to compete against children from other schools.

5. Additional support for vulnerable children - £100

Purpose: To allow children with medical conditions/ physical disabilities to access sports activities

Children with physical disabilities have been able to attend a swimming gala for children with special needs in the area.

6. Promotion of particular sports - £2,200

Purpose: To offer additonal activities to promote under-represented sports

Focus on developing confidence in and provision in Dance.
