Music Provision

We value music as an important part of our school curriculum and we are pleased to work with Hampshire Music Service (HMS) as a key partner in helping us to provide high standards of music education.

A member of HMS staff delivers the Listen2Me programme for us. Currently our Y2 and Y4 pupils receive whole class instrumental tuition that introduces them to different instruments. This academic year pupils will get the opportunity of learning African drumming, the ukulele and how to use their voice when singing. At the end of each term, the classes perform a concert which is open for parents and visitors to attend.

We also have a number of HMS peripatetic who visit the school weekly to teach instrumental lessons (fees apply). We currently offer guitar, strings, woodwind, brass and keyboard lessons. Please contact the school office for further details.

In July, we usually celebrate the children's progress by holding an evening concert. All pupils who learn an instrument at school or privately are given the opportunity to perform.
